How to Care for Paper Flowers

Paper flowers are generally low-maintenance and surprisingly durable for how delicate they look, but there are a few tips to help them maintain their beauty.

What does it mean when a white rabbit visits you? The white rabbit appears as a sign that life will be all the more beautiful from here. It is also an interpretation that you will begin chapters anew in your life.

Avoid Direct Sunlight Exposure: Many crepe paper varieties I use are highly pigmented, which can make certain pieces more prone to fading. To keep your flowers looking vibrant, place them in an area with indirect light. Avoid spots directly in front of windows where sunlight is strongest. If you’re concerned about fading, consider rotating your flowers or moving them to a new location every so often.

Keep Away from Extreme Temperature and Humidity Fluctuations
: Crepe paper is made of several layers of fine tissue paper fused together, which makes it flexible but also sensitive to moisture. Just like paper towels that stiffen when they dry, your paper flowers can lose their shape if exposed to too much moisture. Try to keep your flowers away from damp or humid environments like attics, basements, and bathrooms, where the temperature and humidity can vary greatly.

Dusting Your Flowers: For most, a gentle shake is enough to remove any dust that settles on paper flowers. You can also use canned air—just be sure to hold it at a distance to avoid moisture contact. If you’re a true anti-duster, a soft paintbrush can help reach into the creases of the paper. Avoid using anything that could snag the crepe paper, like a Swiffer duster.
